At Access TD, we are a trusted, global supplier of high-voltage electrical protection solutions, with a legacy spanning over 25 years in the industry. Our commitment is to protect your most critical high-voltage assets, including motors, generators, and dry-type transformers, from costly damage.
George Beyrouthi graduated from the University of NSW in 1983 and quickly established a long career in the power industry. By 1987, his expertise led to his promotion to General Manager at the multinational conglomerate, ABB. Since its founding, Access T&D, under the leadership of George and his team, has successfully secured numerous contracts in both Australia and New Zealand, providing high-quality Power Engineering products to a wide range of clients, including electricity utilities, engineering firms, and major mining companies. The entire staff at Access T&D is dedicated to delivering quality products and service to the engineering industry and beyond.
In Australia and internationally, we have supplied almost 1000 units of our surge protection devices over the last 15 years to both large and small clients.
We have supplied products to all the major electrical companies and power electricity companies across Australia and overseas, proving the reliability and effectiveness of our engineering solutions.
Our team is dedicated to providing robust technical support and is available for technical presentations for large quantity contracts.
Our Core Products: Switching Surge Protection
The Surge Protector Strike – Zorc from Strike Technologies is our field-proven, tuned RC (Resistor-Capacitor) circuit surge suppressor, specifically engineered for switching surge elimination.
Primary Function: Protection against surges generated from the switching of transformers, generators, and motors, which can destroy winding insulation.
Insulation Rating: Standard Zorc 11kV units are rated at a 95kV BIL (Basic Impulse Insulation Level). Model Differentiation: The primary difference between our models is the number of internal Metal Oxide Varistors (MOVs): M3 Models (4 x MOVs): Recommended for installations with long cable runs between the switchgear and the protected equipment for superior protection against induced surges/secondary lightning. P3 Models (2 x MOVs): Designed for short cable runs or installation inside a switchgear panel where the risk of induced surges is lower. Testing & Standards: The core capacitors are manufactured and routine tested to IEC standards (e.g., IEC871-1). The complete ZORC unit is designed for switching transients, not lightning.
The NTSA Protec Z series represents our next-generation Zinc Oxide RC Surge Suppressor, offering the same core RC circuit specifications as the ZORC but with advanced monitoring capabilities.
Advanced Safety (PROTEC Z+): The PROTEC Z+ is a more advanced switching surge suppressor that includes Partial Discharge Monitoring and a standard, pressure-activated safety switch.
Safety Switch Function: A dry contact (N/O & N/C) that triggers when internal pressure rises by 0.5 bar. This contact can be connected to a motor controller, PLC, or SCADA system for remote alarm and pre-emptive inspection, preventing catastrophic failure.
Availability & Warranty: Made in Europe, often available in stock. The PROTEC Z comes with a 12-month warranty.
